Easytorent and the magical land of CENTRAL ISTRIA

Easyrorent is present in the main regions of Istria, in Croatia, with its fabulous holiday houses. For a holiday in complete freedom, we recommend a stay in the Central Istria.

If you do not like the confusion of the most famous seaside resorts and prefer instead dreamlike nature, breathtaking landscapes and medieval towns, the central of Istria is really your holiday destination. It is indeed still one of the rare Mediterranean areas where the natural landscape and the rich heritage remained intact. The most important center of the region is Pazin, in the heart of the peninsula.

By its castle, a fortress erected above the ravine of the river Pazincica, there is the plot of a novel by Julius Verne (Mathias Sandorf -1885, one of the novels of the hit series Voyages Extraordinaires). Today the castle is home to the Ethnographic Museum and the City Museum. Going to the north you reach the beautiful town of Motovun, a picturesque medieval town perched on the mountain overlooking the valley and the wellknown woods, where grows the best truffle in the world that has made famous also the other important place of the area, Buzet.

During the summer the International Film festival is held in Motovun. Nearby you can visit Colmo, the smallest town in the world, protected cultural monument. For hiking and trekking lovers, the area is full of trails that wind through the mountains and woods to the Mount Ucka, a natural park. In Piemonte D’Istria instead lies the leaning bell tower of 40 cm, the so-called Istrian Leaning Tower.

Heading to the south we reach Zminj, where old houses and buildings have been transformed into charming agritourisms with the opportunity to taste meals made with local specialities, surrounded by untouched nature. Further south we reach Sanvincenti, cultural center of southern Istria, with a beautiful castle, a church and a wonderful Renaissance square. Nearby you find Duecastelli with the remains of the medieval town and the ruins of the early Christian church of St. Sophia. The historic center of the town of Bale is instead a maze of little streets paved in stone with a medieval castle of the XV century.

In the area, there are many biking and walking trails. This side of Istria is also a paradise for gourmets. Indeed there are many opportunities of wine and gastronomic discoveries with quality wine, honey, truffle, cheese tastings. Also lovers of outdoor sports will find many opportunities for recreation, including hunting, hiking, walking in the nature, climbing, cycling, horse riding, freshwater fishing, just to name a few.

In the end, art and culture lovers will find plenty of events, they can visit fortresses, churches, castles, museums and attend various cultural initiatives.

Another Istria, quieter, intact and unexpected, awaits you, far from the noise of the coast. You will find all this and much more by staying in the holiday houses of Easytorent.
